Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Aries tend to be very active people who love nothing more than being outdoors. For such an energetic person, a dog is the perfect partner. A Labrador or Border Collie in particular would be a great match as they are bouncy, friendly and enthusiastic, just like you!
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
People born under the Taurus sign tend to crave attention and touch. A cat such as a LaPerm, who are known for rubbing against anything and everything in their path, would be the perfect companion for you! Taureans can be stubborn but this also makes you a fiercely loyal person. And, just like you, once a LaPerm develops a connection, you have a friend for life.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Cancerians are sensitive souls who have high emotional intelligence. You are wonderful nurturers who would be suited to most animals but the best fit for you is a cat. You need a breed who will stick by you through thick and thin and so there’s only one for you – Somali. Somalis are affection-seekers who are always happy to curl up and cuddle, just like you!
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Leos have rich taste – only the finest things in life will do! With that in mind, a horse would be the perfect pet for you. The ultimate in luxurious pets, their regal, dignified appearance will be a perfect reflection of yourself. For those who can’t accommodate a horse in their life, the hairless Sphynx cat also exudes a sense of luxury. Their coat (skin) emulates the soft feel of chamois leather – what could be more luxurious than that?!
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
People born under Virgo can be fussy. A pet who makes a mess in the house or sheds hair everywhere will not be welcome. Instead, enjoy having a companion that’s neat and that won’t create chaos. For you, the answer is easy – a tortoise. Very clean and easy to care for, they’re a great choice for a perfectionist like yourself!
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Librans appreciate beauty and are drawn to things that are aesthetically pleasing. You would be open to most animals but, whatever it is, it would have to be very good looking! A pure breed cat such as the Maine Coon or highly groomed Miniature Poodle would be your pet of choice. And, of course, you would pick the cutest of the litter.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Calm on the outside but passionate underneath, Scorpians have a mysterious persona which would be well suited to an equally mystifying pet – a snake. The snake’s shedding of the skin is a great match for Scorpians, who are known as the sign of transformation.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarians were born to travel. Fuelled by wanderlust, you won’t spend much time at home and, if you are, you will be planning your next trip. You need a low-maintenance pet that can cope with your regular absences. Best bet for you is to invest in a tank and fill it with fish. They’re the most low maintenance pet you can get and will suit your lifestyle perfectly.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Capricorns are hardworking and not afraid to go the extra mile. A great believer in “the busier the better”, you would not be against having a pet who requires a little more attention. For that reason, a ferret would be perfect for you! Although they can be a little finicky, you would not be put off and would enjoy putting in the extra effort to look after your new pet.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Aquarians are loving and generous by nature. You are most likely to be the person leaving out water and food for stray animals and would be drawn to adopting a pet from a shelter rather than buying from a breeder. You want to save the world! Aquarians are well suited to a lap dog like a Yorkshire Terrier who would lap up your limitless affection and attention!
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
People born under Pisces tend to be very sensitive and would be a great owner for a pet who shares their sensitive nature. A small snuggling partner such as a rabbit or guinea pig would be great for you as you would provide them with the attention and gentle handling that they need.
