The Beaches You and Your Dog Will Love

Here at Mad Paws we love spending time outdoor with our furry friends! Autumn is the perfect beach season, so here we prepared some of the best beaches for dogs we love to enjoy with our friends, human or furry.

New South Wales

Situated in Sydney’s harbour, Sirius Cove is a beautiful, protected beach with plenty of shade on the grassy area behind the beach, renowned for its gentle and shallow waters. It is off-leash all day during weekdays and before 9.00 am and after 4.00 pm on weekends and Public Holidays. If you are in Sydney, another option is Rose Bay, just 15 minutes from the city centre, in this off-leash beach your pup can enjoy a swim in the shallow water and make some new friends, while you can enjoy the amazing view over the city and the harbour.

Victoria

The Brighton Dog Beach in Bayside (officially known as Sandown Street Beach) is one of the most diverse Melbourne’s beaches. Your dog will most definitely enjoy the broad array of sand dunes, shrub and playing with the other dogs that sometimes come to the beach. While your dog enjoys a run amongst the surf and sand, you will have the chance to admire the boats on docks, the ones sailing and the pretty sight of the Melbourne CBD.

Queensland

Palm Beach in the Gold Coast is a good sized patch of sand that goes from the Palm Beach Parklands all the way around the surf, following Currumbin Creek. Here dogs can go off-leash and enjoy a run, a paddle or catching waves. Humans will enjoy the view of both the Currumbin Creek on one side, and of Surfers Paradise on the other.

South Australia

Moana Beach, hosts one of Adelaide’s few dog exercise beaches. The dedicated dog area is free to use and available all year round; while in Winter, you and your dog can enjoy the whole beach. Your dog will love the sand and sea environment, while you can take advantage of the beach and get some exercise of your own while your dog is having fun. There are also plenty of opportunities to socialise, both for you and for your four-legged friend.

Western Australia:

Mosman-Leighton Beach, close to Fremantle, is one of Perth’s more peaceful, uncrowded beaches – perfect for swimming, long walks, wind surfing and playing with your dog. Dogs are allowed to go off-leash on Mosman Beach, and on Leighton Beach but only to the north of the railway overpass. Besides playing with your dog, you can have a look at the Fremantle Harbour and at the ships that are entering it, which gives an interesting and different view from the usual beach landscape.
