What were you doing before Mad Paws?
I was working for a software testing company in their marketing department. I was responsible for lots of different things, from building training courses to running events. I’d been working with them for eight years, so it was a big change when I made the move to Mad Paws!
What do you love most about working at Mad Paws?
The people. Everyone is just so lovely, and I felt as if we were all immediate friends from the moment I started working here. I’ve always loved animals and I foster kittens for the RSPCA, so it’s really rewarding to work for a company in which everyone has the same interests and values.
Tell me about something special you have on your desk
I have a basket full of vitamins, creams, and random stuff to keep me healthy. Stuff like immunity capsules, Vitamin B, and paw paw ointment.
What do you spend your weekends doing?
Most of my weekends are occupied by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I’ve been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for three years, and my husband and I own a gym in Drummoyne. We spend much of the weekend teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to children, and we also travel to other gyms to train ourselves for competition. When we’re not doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we’re eating and recovering!
What do you have as the background image on your phone?
It’s a picture of me and my husband from our wedding
last September.
If you could pet sit any animal, what would it be?
Definitely an orangutan. When I was 16 I travelled to Borneo to explore the jungle and find orangutans. While I didn’t see any in the wild, I was able to visit some in the orangutan orphanage. I love orangutans – and all primates.
