This week, the team from Mad Paws HQ took a pack of dogs to Qantas’ head office in Sydney. The pooches spent two hours playing with Qantas staff and their families, and made more than a few new friends. By the end of the day, one thing was clear: “dogs in the workplace” works for everyone!
The workers enjoy a much-needed dosage of canine cuteness
At Qantas, we watched dozens of professionals leave with a smile after their lunch date with our doggies. The reason behind this is simple, and backed by science.
Research has proven that humans can lower their stress levels by spending as little as 15 minutes a day in the presence of pets.People who can’t keep pets at home miss out on this furry fix, and those who work long days are often left with too little time to bond with their pet. Bringing pets into the workplace allows workers to destress during their day – which is a win for employers and employees alike.
Pets in the workplace have the best. Day. EVER
At the start of the day, our dogs were buzzing with restless energy. By the end of the day, they looked like this:
Not everyone thinks of how dogs spend their days when their Owners are out at work. Dogs are social creatures, and often count every minute that they’re on their own. When they’re brought to a workplace, they get to spend the whole day doing their FAVOURITE THING: meeting friendly people!
The Pet Owners can enjoy an easier life
Our dogs bounded around, played fetch, and had the time of their lives all afternoon at Qantas. When they returned home, they were smiling, content, and ready to curl up at their Owners’ feet. For many Pet Owners, this is a dream come true.
Sometimes, at the end of a 10-hour work day, it can be hard to give your dog the attention they crave. If you take your pooch to a pet-friendly workplace, the staff will often clamour to walk pat them, cuddle them, and walk them during their lunch break. At the day’s end, they will be happy and well-exercised, and you won’t need to do as much to meet their needs.
Thanks for hosting our dogs, Qantas. We hope more workplaces follow your example and bring pets into the office!
