Within the Nation’s Capital, this man’s home is the Canine Capital. A resident of Holt, ACT, this Sitter knows that a favourite game and a good chin scratch are the key to any pet’s heart. Meet Dane, our March Pet Sitter of the Month!
Why do you love being a Mad Paws Pet Sitter?
Many many reasons. It’s lovely to come home to a wagging tail, and it’s great to get outside and explore. I also get to see my friends more often because they only ever come over to see me when I have a four-legged housemate!
What’s your favourite thing to do with your furry clients?
I love to spoil them, and play their favourite game. Before a booking begins, I always ask a pet’s Owner what their favourite game is. It’s always the best way to learn how to bond with them!
What was the first pet you ever owned? Do you have your own pets now?
I had a canary named Joey, but my first dog was a toy poodle called Jet. Aside from the furry friends I Pet Sit, I don’t have any pets now. I am trying to look after as many breeds as I can to help inform my next ownership decision.
Do you have any particularly memorable furry guests?
They have all been wonderful. I love the cheeky pups that steal my socks – they teach me a life lesson to pick up after myself!
If your furry guests could talk, what one question would you ask them at a Meet & Greet?
“Where do you like to be scratched?”
What’s your one top tip for new Pet Sitters?
Hide your socks! Let each dog settle at their own pace. Let them explore your house without too much interruption. Each one has their own personality, so I have yet to find a single trick that works for every dog!
