Maybe there’s no award for the Famous Dogs of 2021, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t acknowledge the puppers who carried us through the ups and downs of the last year! If you’re like us, keeping up with TikTok dog dances, IG puppy posts, and celebrity doggo adoptions was pretty much part of the self care routine. And now, we’d like to highlight the famous dogs that stole our hearts (and definitely your local Dog Sitter’s, and maybe yours, too!)
#1: Secret, the Australian Shepherd

In 2021, many of us had the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones we hadn’t seen in person in a while. And of course, what else is there to talk about than whatever pandemic hobby you picked up? Well, if you learned how to play a single song on the piano or took an online watercolour class, we’re sorry to say that Secret has you beat.
This sensational Aussie Shepherd has gained 5.7 million followers on TikTok because of her amazing repertoire of tricks. You can see this clever canine gardening, painting, doing yoga, playing in a one-dog-band, and of course, helping her humans with household chores.
If you weren’t as busy as Secret, we certainly won’t judge you. For most of us, 2021 was basically about trying to remember how to act normal in public.
#2: Noodle, the Bones or No Bones Dog
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM8bRs9p7/
Listen, we all know how ruff it was to stay motivated in 2021. So, it’s not surprising that an entire TikTok account dedicated to a 13 year old pug’s decision of whether or not to get up in the morning gained so much attention.
According to the “daily readings” hosted by Noodle’s supportive Owner, the aging pug could either have a “bones” day, in which he sits up on his own and starts the day, or a “no bones” day, in which he falls right back down into an adorable slumber. If you’re looking for signs from the universe about how to live your life, you could simply follow Noodle’s lead instead.
#3: The Biden Brothers, Major and Champ
Over in the U.S., 2021 marked the first year of doggos in the White House since President Obama left office in 2017. It was also the first time that a rescue dog would be called DOTUS (Doggo of the United States). Suffice to say that dog lovers, particularly German Shepherd Dog lovers, around the world couldn’t have been happier.
It wasn’t a year without some hardships, of course. In April, young Major underwent a doggy manners bootcamp after he got a bit bitey with the staff. His trainers helped him to acclimate to the bustle of the White House so that he could begin playing the role of furry ambassador wonderfully.
Sadly, the heartbreak of the year came just two months later when Champ passed away at the old age of 13.
#4: Josh of the Be Like Josh Foundation

Of all the contenders on the list for famous dogs 2021, we have to say that Josh might have brought us the most happy tears. This life-loving Doodle from Arizona is on a mission to teach the world about doggos with neurological disabilities, one viral TikTok video at a time.
Watch Josh and his brother, Ford, tap their toes to rap ballads of the early 2000s while their devoted Dog Owners, Andrew and Rebecca, run a foster foundation for dogs with cerebral hypoplasia and other neurological conditions. And make sure to have tissues handy because you will either cry or laugh until you cry.
#5: Puddin and Dozer of 1Jolly1

Happy-go-lucky Labrador, Dozer, and cute-as-a-button Chihuahua, Puddin, are the stars of 1Jolly1, a TikTok account with an astounding 4.8 million followers! Puddin brings hilarious doggy costumes to the table, while Dozer will melt your heart with his huggable calmness.
By far, their most popular videos revolve around their grooming sessions, in which doting Dog Owner Josh tries out new brushing tools on his adorable doggos.
#6: Kristen Bell’s New dog, Whiskey

You probably know at least one person who welcomed home a pandemic puppy, and hey, maybe you even found an adorable little quarantine canine of your own! As it turns out, celebrities also jumped on the adoption wave over the last year and a half. Everyone from Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, Jennifer Aniston to Kate Hudson and Dua Lipa adopted puppers of all shapes and sizes.
In March 2021, Kristen Bell found her own furever furbaby, a three-legged dog named Whiskey. Before living out his new life as celebrity doggo, Whiskey was involved in a terrible accident with a truck. Clearly, that hasn’t stopped him from becoming a star!
#7: Bandit the Husky
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM8bH4QPB/
There’s no doubt about it: Huskies were born for TikTok fame. With their quirky personalities and unique vocal range, these doggos can captivate us for hours!
That’s definitely the case for Bandit’s 1.8 million followers. Whether he’s responding to his pawrent’s latest pupper prank or sharing his take on the latest TikTok Trend, Bandit is a pup with one unforgettable personality!
How would we have gotten through 2021 without the incredible doggos to bless our social media feeds? Whether you found comfort in checking in with celebrity dogs or laughed along with the funniest furry families on TikTok, we can bet that at least a few dog accounts made you overcome the urge to delete your social media apps altogether.
