Dogs vs Cats: Which are better according to science?

Dogs’ brains have been continuously growing as time passes, whilst cats have remained the same size since they were first domesticated 8000 years ago.
Dogs have been trained to extremely high levels as seeing-eye dogs, rescue dogs, therapy dogs, drug detection dogs, police dogs and even cancer detectors.
The fastest dog breeds are quicker than the fastest cats. Greyhounds can reach speeds of up to 40mph whilst the fastest felines only hit 30mph
Dogs have a far better sense of smell. The average dog has 149 – 300 million receptors whilst cats have only 45 to 80 million.
The average dog can learn up to 165 words (the vocabulary of an average two-year-old human). The average cat can learn up to 35 words.

Although their brains are smaller, cats have almost twice as many neurons in their cerebral cortex as dogs in their cerebral cortex, which means that cats have a greater capacity for information processing than dogs.
Cats are more agile than dogs and have better balance. They are also more able to judge spaces and slink through them.
Typically, cats are better hunters than dogs. Most dogs will chase a squirrel but, once it’s caught they don’t know what to do with it!
Cats have a longer average life span of 13 years compared to dogs’ 11 years!
Adult cats can spend up to 50% of their day grooming which means our feline friends smell a lot better than their canine counterparts!

I dont think so that dogs are best they don’t treat guests politely than cats the think guests are strangers

I quite enjoy my dog’s natural smell. She’s not stinky but she has a discreet doggy odour that you can smell when she gets up from a place where she’s been lying for a while. I simply love that odour as it is hers.
