Breed History ♜
In a move that would make Bryan Adams proud, breeders created the first litter of Chantilly-Tiffany cats in 1969. The breed spent its first years in New York before spreading across North America, and eventually the world .
Personality Traits and Trainability ★
The Chantilly-Tiffany is the feline version of that third bowl of porridge from Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Not too active and not too docile, they are “just right” for Owners looking for a moderate kitty.
Their first months are their most mischievous, but they’ll enjoy playing with toys for most of their lives. While they can be a bit reserved when they meet strangers, they will love their human family ’til it hurts.
Once they’ve opened their hearts to you, they’ll also open their vocal chords! This breed bears a habit of mewling and chirping at their Owners, which is their way of interacting.
Living Conditions ⌂
As with most cat breeds, the Chantilly-Tiffany should remain indoors. Having said that, they do benefit from having indoor space in which to play and explore. They live well alongside other pets and human children alike, but their social urges come with a caveat. They can come to depend on the presence of people, and will suffer if left on their own. If you need to leave your Chantilly-Tiffany for more than a few hours, consider booking a Cat Sitter.
Grooming ✄
When you own a Chantilly-Tiffany, you can expect to become good friends with your cat brush. Thanks to its long, Himalayan-like coat, the ChanTiff requires daily brushing to avoid matting. Their coat can also conceal a growing belly, so be sure to measure their meal portions to control their weight.
Fun Fact ♥
When your Chantilly-Tiffany meows at you, try meowing back. Your cat will often start a mewling conversation with you!

We have had our Chantilly-Tiffany little angel Sophie for 11 years now, she is EXACTLY like the picture too 🥰 She has an absolutely adorable nature and is happiest when either myself or one of my 3 kids is cradling her like a baby patting her continuously. The purrs become deeper and louder, eyes closed and head arched way back in pure contentment. I often say to myself “what are we going to do without her one day?” It will be devastating for our family. We got her from a rescue, but we are the lucky ones to have her. She is just adorable and we love her dearly. As I have heard said once before : they may only grace part of our lives, but we are all of theirs. We are grateful to be her forever family.
I think this is the nicest cat I’ve ever had the privilege of sharing my life with. My black Chantilly, Tiffany cat passed away in October. I’m now trying to find one desperately because I miss her so much and she was absolutely the best cat I’ve ever had in my life.
