Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager – CRM and Brand
Pets: Koopa, a Golden Retriever
What were you doing before Mad Paws?
When I was in Mexico I was working in an advertising agency as an art director. I was managing the creative processes and brainstorming ideas. I was able to work on TV ad production, but my main responsibilities were to be in charge of all the graphics and printable assets of the campaigns.
My husband and I then moved to Australia as an adventure, and we ended up staying. After working in a series of different jobs while I settled in, I was given the opportunity to start working at Mad Paws.
What do you love most about working at Mad Paws?
I love that I have the opportunity to work in different parts of the business. Even though my role is CRM Manager, I enjoy that I get to help in other departments. I constantly get to learn from my colleagues, which is very rewarding. I also love the people, because we’ve all become very good friends. It’s as if I’m working with family, not just colleagues.
When you’re a member of the Mad Paws Pack, you can always expect the support of everyone around you. You never feel as if you’re on your own. Whenever you have a problem you can’t solve, you can approach your boss or co-worker and they’ll always be willing to help.
Tell me about something special you have on your desk
I have a photo from Mexico of myself with my Golden Retriever Koopa. I love that photo because it reminds me of all the lovely memories I made with him. He unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago, but that photo reminds me of a beautiful day we spent together.
I also have a bobble head of the artist Bob Ross, which was given to me by friend and former Mad Paws Content Manager Melanie. I like Bob Ross, and used to ask Melanie to post a Facebook photo of a doggy dressed as him. She never wanted to do it, and used to joke: “You’re obsessed with Bob Ross!” Before she returned to England, she bought me the Bob Ross bobble head as a farewell gift. It’s very special to me, because it reminds me of all the good times we shared together.
What do you spend your weekends doing?
My husband and I love hiking and camping, and we take the time to visit nature whenever we can. When we’re in Sydney, we spend lots of time with our friends, and often look after our friends’ children. I love it, because I get to feel like their aunty!
What do you have as the background image on your phone?
I have an image of a nebula in space. I love everything related to the universe, because it reminds me to stay grounded.
Whenever I feel as if my problems are too much, I think of the immensity of the universe, and it puts things into perspective. It reminds me to relax and enjoy life, because my problems are tiny in the scheme of the cosmos.
If you could pet sit any animal, what would it be?
Aside from dogs, I would love to pet sit a dolphin. They are just amazing creatures; I find them to be so special. The way they move is incredible, and they’re very intelligent. Seeing as they live in the water, it would also mean an aquatic pet sit!
